Brush Hog Ham
One of our goals for each animal is to allow them to express themselves in the way that makes them different from other animals. Instead of raising our pigs in a building crowded together in a pen, we raise them out on pasture where they can root and graze, thus allowing them to “express their pigness”!
In the spring, the piglets go out to the pig pasture which is divided into 5 quarter acre paddocks. Every 10 to 14 days we move them to a fresh paddock allowing the old one to rest and re-grow before the pigs come back to it. Currently we are using the hogs to reclaim some old overgrown pasture, hence the name.
